Bilateral relations

Legal framework



Commercial exchanges between Romania and Republic of Ireland are carried on, mainly, in accordance with the Accession Treaty, signed on 25th of April 2005 and entered into force on 1st of January 2007, respecting the principles established by the rules of the internal community market, as well as those of the Common Commercial Policy of the European Union.

Other important agreements:

- "Convention between the Government of Romania and the Government of Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and wealth", signed in October 1999, entered into force on 29th of December 2000 and applied from 1st of January 2001 (L 208 / 28.11.2000, MO 626/2000).
