Attracting foreign investment

On May 18th 2016, the newly created Department for Foreign Investment - ”Invest Romania”, belonging to the Romanian Government, launched its new website: www.investromania.gov.ro, meant to provide information on legal framework, business costs, tax and government support, infrastructure and other relevant areas to foreign investors.

Foreign companies wishing to come to Romania to open a new office or an entire manufacturing facility, guidance for project implementation during all stages of the decision-making process and consultancy regarding any arising complications, can ask for the expert advice and support services offered free of charge by the new Department.

All relevant information regarding institutional data such as procedural transparency, asset declarations and the organization chart can be found on the above mentioned site. 

Irish investments in Romania

On 30th of June 2016 (according to the Romanian National Trade Register Office), the number of the Romanian companies with Irish invested capital was 862 companies (representing 0.40 per cent out of total companies number), with a total invested capital (FDI) of Euro 28.51 Million (52nd place, share 0.05 per cent)
